Spirit of the Standards - RYS 200

Standards Guidelines (all RYS)

1. Spirit of the Standards

The spirit of the Geet Yoga & Fitness Accademy Standards is to include a school in the (Registered Yoga School) Directory only when its YTT (Yoga Teacher Training):

  • Has a definite, pre-defined curriculum that meets the standards.
  • Is taught by qualified yoga teacher trainers.
  • Offers a consistent approach that supports depth of learning.

All standards for a RYS are intended to be clear, implementable reflections of the above criteria.

2. Educational Categories of Study & Practice

The RYS Educational Categories are:

  • Techniques, Training and Practice
  • Teaching Methodology
  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Yoga Philosophy/Ethics/Lifestyle
  • Practicum

Please see each standard’s detailed description for how each category applies to the designation.

Training hours may go into ‘N/A - Supplemental Training’ if they include content not fitting the Educational Categories.

E-RYT 200: Must have 2 years and 1000 teaching hours after RYT 200 completion.
